This morning I woke up in beautiful San Juan Capistrano, CA with an overwhelming sense of gratitude. I thought to myself, ‘How lucky am I? My heart is so full & I have so much THANKS to give’. Like clockwork, today’s festivities always get me thinking of what & who I am grateful for in my life. I try to practice gratitude daily, but today specifically requires a heightened sense of gratefulness. Today I am choosing to “sweat the small stuff” in a sense. I was just reading an excerpt from The Daily Gratitude Blog and about midway down the page, I came across a post entitled “How Much Gratitude Can You Handle?” It inspired me and got my mental wheels turning….In paying attention to the “small stuff” we often find it is really the “big stuff”, and in fact the

Wherever you are reading this, take a moment, take a deep breath, and smile. It’s good for you. How do I know? Well, besides being a musician, I am a doctor. I also know how to juggle. Now let’s play Two Truths and a Lie….(Are you smiling yet?) Sorry, back on track here: We do know from various sources nowadays that smiling can actually benefit our overall health. When we laugh, our bodies release endorphins which act as natural stress & pain relievers. When we smile, it positively affects our moods, which in turn can positively affect our mental health. Our bodies have to work harder to frown than to smile. I even happen to believe that smiles are contagious, but I don’t have medical research to back that up….YET. Let’s face it, friends – When we smile, we
